The paper presents methods of analytical and measurement-based determination of pressures acting on sheet metal in the process of electrodynamic forming by means of flat inductors generating pulse magnetic field. Pressures are determined for sheet metal of different thicknesses processed by means of circular and elliptical spiral inductors. The paper describes also examples of copper and aluminium sheet metal forming conducted by means of the analysed inductors and shaped forming dies.

Cauchy paved the way for constructing models in concrete technology, and elsewhere. He determined the (nonflat) surface area in 3D by measuring random total projections. Analogously, he determined the length of a curved line in 2D by way of measuring the total projections. The paper will present the mathematical expressions, because in many branches of concrete technology, modelling is found based on such Cauchy concepts. These branches – fractography in compression, tension or shear, fibre reinforcement and permeability estimation – will briefly be mentioned to demonstrate this. It has been found that, for the discussed fields of engineering relevance, major model parameters for cementitious materials are similar to those developed by Cauchy in the 19th century. In the paper some previous investigations concerning fractography, fibre reinforcement and fracture roughness will be summarized but basically a new development on porosimetry will be presented. Particularly a new achievement of successful implementation of the methodology (also based on Cauchy) for optimizing permeability estimation will be discussed.

Przedmiotem artykułu jest ocena sposobu prezentacji zagadnienia realizmu i idealizmu w Sporze o istnienie świata R. Ingardena. Najpierw autor przedstawia próbę własnej systematyzacji kwestii „realizm – idealizm”, potem przechodzi do ukazania stanowiska Ingardena. Nowożytną opozycję „realizm – idealizm” można podzielić na trzy zasadnicze obszary: (1) problem istnienia tzw. a priori konstytutywnego, (2) problem argumentacyjnego przekroczenia immanencji świadomości (tzw. problem mostu), (3) problem kauzalnej genezy obrazu świata, którym dysponują ludzkie podmioty poznające (hipotezy sceptyczne). Autor dąży do wykazania, że Spór o istnienie świata jako punkt wyjścia bierze pod uwagę wyłącznie pewną szczegółową interpretację realizmu i idealizmu, interpretację zawartą w pismach E. Husserla, pomija zaś fundamentalną dla zagadnienia realizmu i idealizmu kwestię natury czasu i przestrzeni oraz ogranicza się wyłącznie do interpretacji realizmu i idealizmu z punktu widzenia pytania o istnienie a priori konstytutywnego.
