The asbestos removal in Poland is carried out based on the Programme of Country Cleaning from Asbestos for the Years 2009–2023. Pursuant to this document asbestos-containing materials should be removed from the territory of the whole country by the end of 2032. The pace of asbestoscontaining products removal was estimated and also the time necessary to implement this process. These figures were estimated using two resources of data. The data gathered in the Asbestos Database (Asbestos Database... 2022) were analysed, and the analysis of detailed stocktaking and its update for 20 selected communes of various nature was carried out. The pace of removing in the analysed communes is definitely diversified. The obtained values generally range from 0.28 to 6.35 kg/R/y (kg per resident/year). An averaged pace of asbestos removal for the entire country is from 2.24 to 3.65 kg/R/y, depending on the adopted method of calculations. The analysis has shown that considering the current pace of asbestos-containing products removing, these materials will not be removed from the area of Poland by the set date, i.e. by the end of 2032. In individual provinces the amount of asbestos and the pace of removal are drastically different. Retaining the current pace of asbestoscontaining products removing, such products will disappear from Poland only within 27–193 years, depending on the province. An average pace of removal, given for the country scale, allows to state that 83 years are needed for the total removal of asbestos products.

Artykuł prezentuje zbiór 174 szklanych negatywów znajdujących się w PAN Bibliotece Gdańskiej, na których utrwalono fotograficzną dokumentację likwidacji wałów obronnych w północno-wschodnich rejonach Gdańska pomiędzy 1908 a 1928 rokiem. W tekście podjęto próbę odtworzenia historii wyjątkowej kolekcji – okoliczności powstania oraz losów przed i po II wojnie światowej. Autorka, porządkując zbiór w sposób chronologiczny, podąża śladami anonimowego fotografa, odtwarzając dawny obraz wałów miejskich, cieków wodnych i śluz po wschodniej stronie miasta, jak również rejestrując zmiany, jakie zaszły w przestrzeni przedmiejskiej dzielnicy Knipawa (Rudno) i osady Althof. Na podstawie zdjęć rozszyfrowuje miejsca wykonywania ujęć, które często są śladami pozostawionymi przez ich nieznanego autora; stawia także tezę dotyczącą tożsamości fotografa.

The dynamic performance of cylindrical double-tube adsorption heat pump is numerically analysed using a non-equilibrium model, which takes into account both heat and mass transfer processes. The model includes conservation equations for: heat transfer in heating/cooling fluids, heat transfer in the metal tube, and heat and mass transfer in the adsorbent. The mathematical model is numerically solved using the method of lines. Numerical simulations are performed for the system water-zeolite 13X, chosen as the working pair. The effect of the evaporator and condenser temperatures on the adsorption and desorption kinetics is examined. The results of the numerical investigation show that both of these parameters have a significant effect on the adsorption heat pump performance. Based on computer simulation results, the values of the coefficients of performance for heating and cooling are calculated. The results show that adsorption heat pumps have relatively low efficiency compared to other heat pumps. The value of the coefficient of performance for heating is higher than for cooling
