This study investigated the utility of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) closure with hemostatic clip by comparing with traditional PDA closure. Medical records of 51 dogs with surgical closure of PDA were reviewed and retrospective study was conducted. 29 dogs were treated by procedure with hemostatic clip (Group HC), and 22 dogs were treated by surgical ligation (Group SL). Data pertaining to breed, sex, age and body weight at the time of surgery, echocardiographic minimal ductal diameter, duration of surgery, hemostatic clip size, echocardiographic findings, hemorrhage, residual ductal flow and recanalization were collected from records. The results showed that procedure with hemostatic clip had been selected in lighter dogs than traditional PDA closure. Duration of surgery performed only hemostatic clip technique was significantly shorter than that in group SL. Preoperative LVIDd, E-wave and FS were significantly lower than postoperative ones. As regard all parameters, the differences between pre- and postoperative periods were not significantly different between group HC and group SL. Hemorrhage, residual ductal flow, and recanalization were not significantly different in both groups. The present study showed that procedure with hemostatic clip is beneficial in that it is available in smaller dogs and can make shorter operation duration than traditional PDA closure. Moreover, the procedure is effective for the resolution of volume overload of the left atrium and ventricle in short-term outcome. Complications including hemorrhage, residual ductal flow and recanalization were not significantly different with both techniques.
This paper presents frequency reconfigurable dual band antenna for WiMAX and LTE 2500 band applications using four PIN diode switches. The antenna is compact in size with dimensions of 30 x 30 x 0.8 mm3 and designed on FR-4 dielectric substrate with a partial ground plane. The fabricated antenna operates in the frequency range of LTE and WiMAX (2.5-2.69 GHz and 3.4-3.6 GHz) respectively. The frequencies can be controlled by using PIN diodes and antenna attained the gain ranging of 3.34-4.46 dBi. This designed antenna resonating at 2.52 and 3.49 GHz when the PIN diodes are in ON state and resonating at 2.68 and 3.58 GHz when PIN diodes are in OFF state. The proposed antenna has bidirectional radiation at upper frequency bands and unidirectional at lower frequency bands. The proposed split ring structured antenna has the radiation efficiency of 94.12% at 2.52 GHz and 90.34% at 3.49 GHz in ON state. Antenna providing good agreement between the measured (Antenna measurement setup with VNA) and simulated results (Ansys-HFSS).
The experiment was conducted in the years 2001–2003 at the Experimental Station in Złotniki. The aim of the performed investigations was to evaluate economic effectiveness of different fungicidal protection programs in winter wheat. Winter wheat of cv. Sakwa was cultivated using the following two variants of seed treatment: 1) Raxil 060 FS at the dose of 60 ml/100 kg grain, 2) Raxil 060 FS + Latitude 125 FS at the doses of 60 and 200 ml/100 kg, and five variants of fungicidal foliar protection: 1) Vista 228 SE, 2) Sportak Alpha 380 EC, 3) Sportak Alpha 380 EC + Vista 228 SE, 4) Sportak Alpha 380 EC + Vista 228 SE + Juwel 250 SC, 5) control – without protection. The use of the above plant protection products contributed to the increase of winter wheat grain yield from 0.60 t/ha to 2.07 t/ha. This increase of yield covered costs of performed chemical control. The economic analysis showed that most effective variant of winter wheat chemical protection was seed treatment with Latitude 125 FS with additional two foliar treatments with the following fungicides: Sportak Alpha 380 EC and Vista 228 SE. Irrespective of the applied seed dressing, additional application of Juwel 250 SC at the stage of early milk maturity turned out to be economically not justified.
