 abstract={In the paper the basic limitations and difficulties in the geostatistical methods using for geological evaluation of deposits has been presented. The following factors, such as: number and spacing of data. measurement and data preparation erorrs. anisotropy and heterogenity of a deposit, knowledge and experience gained in practical application of geostatistics have been discussed. Conclusions deal with rules of deposits variabilities modeling and its usage in reserves estimation. It has been emphasized that the variability structure of the parameters considered in reserves calculation should be analysed more deeply and results of the studies should be also more widely interpreted. When anisotropy or heterogeneity are evident they should be taken into account in resources/reserves estimation. Befor starting the study ofa deposit variability structure it is advisable to carry out a detail statistical analysis of the available data. The analysis should also include constraction of correlation diagrams. It is also indispensable to verify variogram models of the parameters which are taken into account in reserves estimation with cross-validation technique.},
