abstract={In the mining industry, the use and maintenance of equipment are associated with significant operational costs. One of the issues in this case is tire wear, as tires account for a major part of the operating costs of rubber-tired equipment. This paper aims to improve the tire life span of hauling dump truck tires using the Six Sigma approach. The case study was conducted at a medium-sized coal-hauling contractor company. The root causes were identified through a cause-effect diagram, which improved operations by increasing tire life by 27% from 56.065 kilometers to 73.093 kilometers.},
