His original research concepts, focused primarily on the critique of contemporary social institutions, are often used in educational studies, especially in analyses of power mechanisms present in schooling and upbringing. However, Polish pedagogical studies rarely emphasize that Foucault’s research also encompassed the history of schooling, upbringing, and pedagogical thought. This article discusses the place of the history of education in Foucault’s scholarly work, using his book *Discipline and Punish: The Birth of the Prison* as an example. Foucault’s references to the history of education and his use of historical sources are analysed. The article also presents selected foreign historical-educational studies that employ Foucault’s concepts and proposes new areas of research for Polish historians of education.}, title={The History of Education in Michel Foucault’s Research – Foucault’s Concepts in Educational-Historical Research}, type={Artykuł}, URL={http://czasopisma.pan.pl/Content/137379/Hubner.pdf}, doi={10.24425/rdos.2025.156656}, keywords={Michel Foucault, history of education, methodology of historical-educational research}, }
