TY - JOUR N2 - Interface shear strength between geomembranes with various textures, which are used for carrying out the artificial sealing of waste disposal, and compacted fly ash/bottom ash mix, was determined in the paper. The tests were conducted in a classical direct shear apparatus, with the use of a modified cylindrical box. The box was equipped with an additional part, which enabled interaction testing between compacted waste and HOPE geomembrane, It was found that interface strength estimation docs not depend on sample compaction. Only geomcmbranc structure has an effect on shear strength between waste sample and geomembrane. In the case of geomembranes with diverse structure greater values of interface friction angle are obtained, and for smooth geomembranc - greater values of adhesion.
