Abstract

Wireless endoscopic capsules can transmit the picture of the inside of the digestive tract to the external receiver for the purpose of gastrointestinal diseases diagnose. The localization of the capsule is needed to correlate the picture of detected anomalies with the particular fragment of intestine. For this purpose, the analysis of wireless transmission parameters can be applied. Such methods are affected by the impact of the human body on the electromagnetic wave propagation that is specific to the anatomy of individual person. The article presents the algorithm of localization of endoscopic capsules with wireless transmitter based on the detection of phase difference of received signals. The proposed algorithm uses simplified human body models that can change their dielectric properties in each iteration to improve the location of the capsule endoscope. Such approach allows to reduce localization error by around 12 mm (15%) and can by used for patients of different physique without the need of the numerical models of individual body.

Abstract

There is currently a very favorable climate for biological control of pest weeds. Moreover, biological control plays a significant role in the Integrated Plant Protection Management. Traditional methods of weed control, such as cultivation and the use of herbicides are not practical or desirable for some stands of weeds, and biological control has become an attractive strategy for control of pest weeds. Control of Rumex confertus Willd. by natural enemies that reduce its density is the good example of utilizing biological control on the European and worldwide scale. The aim of the conducted studies was to evaluate the dynamic of population of Pegomya nigritarsis Ztt. (Diptera, Anthomyiidae) on Rumex confertus Willd. and to determine the impact of pest's injuries on the growth of a plant.

Abstract

This work examines biochar from carbonization of grape waste, and oat and buckwheat husks at 450ºC. The main aspects of the work concern the analysis of the fixed carbon and ash content in accordance with the European Standard. Obtained results showed that biochar from oat and buckwheat husk can be used for barbeque charcoal and barbeque charcoal bri-quettes production, whereas biochar derived from grape waste can be used for the charcoal briquettes production. Thermo-gravimetric analysis showed that biochar from grape stalk is characterized by the highest ignition and burnout performance, but in relation to the remaining samples, combustion process occurs in a narrow range of time and temperature. Obtained results showed that biochar from oat and buckwheat husks has properties, as well as combustion stability and reactivity, similar to commercial charcoal.

Abstract

AbstractThe Caputo-Fabrizio definition of the fractional derivative is applied to minimum energy control of fractional positive continuous- time linear systems with bounded inputs. Conditions for the reachability of standard and positive fractional linear continuous-time systems are established. The minimum energy control problem for the fractional positive linear systems with bounded inputs is formulated and solved.

Abstract

The global (absolute) stability of nonlinear systems with negative feedbacks and positive descriptor linear parts is addressed. Transfer matrices of positive descriptor linear systems are analyzed. The characteristics u = f(e) of the nonlinear parts satisfy the condition
ke  ≤ f(e) ≤ ke for some positive k, k. It is shown that the nonlinear feedback systems are globally asymptotically stable if the Nyquist plots of the positive descriptor linear parts are located in the right-hand side of the circles (–¹/k₁,  –¹/k₂).
