Abstract

Taking into consideration the level of world economic development the analysis of contemporary world tendencies of fuel and power resources production and consumption is presented. The role of coal in electric power industry of Europe and Ukraine is shown. The results of establishment of innovative mining machines and mechanisms in Ukraine (mining mechanized complexes, winning and heading combines, transport equipment etc.) are laid down. The issues of the most effective using coal energetic capacity and complex exploitation of coal deposits for chemical industry including motor oil production are considered. Taking into account contemporary world tendencies and environmental aspects the substantiation of ways and technical decisions that allow the Ukraine avoid ineffective using natural gas in power industry is presented.

Abstract

The standard ofliving is growing in the last years. Because ofthat a number ofmanufactured wastes are rising. The superior aim of the politics of waste management is preventing rising of wastes, using and environment- friendly storing. The ways of obtaining metallic lead were discussed as well as his physical and chemical properties and application were described. The article presented as the example the Baterpol Sp. z o.o. engaged of processing and recycling of acid-lead accumulators. Paper refers to the Polish and EU legislation of waste management.

Abstract

The closure of mines in the Tarnobrzeg Native Sulphur District required the solution of numerous problems concerning the new water management in the areas surrounding both the open pits and the fields mined with the underground melting method. The lack of precise documentation of pre-mining aquatic environment along with an inadequate application of hydrogeological prognoses resulted in significant difficulties and additionally rised the high closure costs of mining enteprises. The designed drainage of post-mining areas and the control of its current efficiency, the prognosed changes in groundwater table position within water horizons and the volumes of groundwater flows were studied with the numeric model of filtration area. The overextended period of mine closure in the district is a negative feature and illustrates difficulties which arise due to the lack of compulsory decisions concerning the methods and conditions of land reclamation, and due to insufficient financing.

Abstract

The paper presents the principles ofCompositional Data Analysis. This statistical method enables interpreting the data, being proportions of some whole. The two examples of implementation of this method were presented, with use ofhydrogeological and petrographical data. The visaulisation by means of ternary diagrams is helpful for interpreting the results. The method is particularly featured by the possibility of appllication of a range of helpful manipulations, such as: amalgamation, perturbation, unconstraining and centering of data.

Abstract

The results ofgeostatistical studies of the selected Polish mineral deposits have been presented. Attention has been paid to the adventages of linear geostatistics usage in the elaboration of geological data. It has been emphasized that the variability structure of mineral deposits should be analysed more deeply and anisotropy and heterogeneity should be taken into account during the resources/reserves estimation. Geostatistics should be widely used at different stages of deposits studies.

Abstract

The article presents theory of network techniques and stochastic network creation introduced to modelling and optimisation method of mining works in hard coal mine. Presented method could be an useful tool to design process of future mining works in coal mine, according to technical and economical plans.
